Longtime local singer-songwriter Don Chambers has explored various musical avenues over the years, including foot-stomping folk, ambient electronica, discordant guitar squall and classic-rock groove. His latest album, Love of Oblivion, is a soul-tinged take on “love, heartbreak, longing and wanting to give up,” according to a press release, featuring contributions from an A-list Athenian cast, including Drive-By Truckers keyboardist Jay Gonzalez, the Olivia Tremor Control’s Eric Harris, pedal-steel session mainstay Matt Stoessel and Chuck Bradburn of Southern Bitch. Chambers celebrates the album’s release with a show at the Georgia Theatre Saturday, where he’ll share the bill with the Thayer Sarrano String Ensemble and Joe Rowe.
