For 12 years, Athens-based supergroup Heavy Petty has paid loving tribute to rocker Tom Petty, who died last year at 66. Before his death, Petty was rumored to be planning a re-release of his understated 1994 masterpiece, Wildflowers, as well as an accompanying tour. While details regarding a potential reissue remain scarce, you can get your Wildflowers fix Friday at The Foundry, as Heavy Petty plays the record—which contains the radio hit “You Don’t Know How It Feels,” plus scrappy rockers like “You Wreck Me” and heartsick ballads such as “Crawling Back to You”—in its entirety. The band will close the evening with a second, career-spanning set of Petty and the Heartbreakers classics.
