Jenny Lewis got her start as a child actress before gaining fame and acclaim in the world of indie-pop. The Los Angeles singer-songwriter has performed with a lot of projects over the years—including The Postal Service—but she’s still best known for fronting the band Rilo Kiley. That band suffered through a slow and painful breakup, but Lewis transitioned seamlessly into a successful solo career. Her sound has shifted over the course of four albums and now rests somewhere between alt-country, traditional pop and soul. Lewis likes to take her time—she hasn’t released a solo album since 2014’s The Voyager—but social-media sleuthing indicates that her next record is imminent.
