Avid Bookshop
More often, incidents of sexual harassment and violence have surfaced in national dialogues, and the publishing world isn’t exempt. Moderated by bookseller Kerri McNair, Avid’s panel discussion and Q&A will address responses to accusations of misconduct in the book industry, with focus on the roles and responsibilities of industry workers in protecting and advocating for community members. Panelists include Xhenet Aliu, local author of Brass; Kate Lorraine Rascoe, Avid’s youth and school specialist; Esra Mirze Santesso, department associate head in English at UGA; Jordan Stepp, intellectual property manager at UGA Press; and Kendall Worman, community involvement and volunteer coordinator at Project Safe.
(Prince Ave.) The community discussion focuses on responses to sexual misconduct accusations, especially those made within the book industry. See Calendar Pick on p. 12.
