Joni Younkins Herzog

The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation’s annual juried “Small Works” exhibition, which presents artwork measuring under 14 inches by 14 inches, returns this year—but with a twist. The reinvigorated “David & Goliath” will combine small-scale pieces with colossal counterparts sizing over 48 inches by 48 inches. Two additional shows will spotlight local ceramicist Alice Woodruff. “Warrior Women: From Invisible to Formidable with a Nod to #MeToo” consists of 20 female figures sculpted from wheel-thrown vases and created in response to stories the social movement has brought to light. Her second body of work, “Transitions: Vessels for Sam,” was developed while processing grief following her son’s suicide. All three shows will remain on view through Nov. 6.
