Richard Hunt
Currently on view at the museum, “Richard Hunt: Synthesis” features welded and cast sculptures, lithographs and other works on paper illuminating the 60-year career of Hunt, who has created more than 130 large-scale public commissions in over two dozen states. Screened in conjunction with the exhibition, director Charlie Ahearn’s documentary Richard Hunt Sculptor explores the legendary figure’s life and includes rare archival footage from a film created in 1971 for the Museum of Modern Art. The film will be followed by a tour of the exhibition with Shawnya Harris, the Larry D. and Brenda A. Thompson Curator of African American and African Diasporic Art.
