Athens’ newest comedy club, Moonlight Theater Company, opens this month in the former Rubber Soul suite of the Leathers Building with plans to offer professionally led theater classes, artist residencies for traveling performers and weekend workshops, in addition to plays and stand-up comedy. To celebrate the launch, a variety show will include performances by comedians Michael Burgos (D.C.) and Leo Mohr (Switzerland); singers Ansley Stewart (Atlanta) and Bea Troxel (Nashville); actors Mackenzy Cade (Austin), Mallory Moye, Taylor Wood (Memphis) and Andrew Youngerman; choreographer Kalyn Hardman; and founder Chase Brantley. Proceeds benefit the Athens Area Homeless Shelter.
