Curated by The Cultural Landscape Foundation, “The New American Garden: The Landscape Architecture of Oehme, van Sweden” includes photographs and drawings highlighting designs by one of the most influential landscape architecture firms in the country. Recognized for pioneering a sustainable approach that incorporates large areas of grasses and perennials—the “New American Garden” style—the firm has designed notable landmarks such as the National World War II Memorial and Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial in D.C. In conjunction with the opening reception, Eric Groft, a landscape architect in the firm of Oehme, van Sweden, will offer a lecture. The show will remain on view through Feb. 21.
