Nashville-based Liz Cooper & The Stampede combine an eclectic mix of psychedelic sounds, misty dream-folk and rock and roll. Cooper credits the psychedelic traits to bassist Grant Prettyman’s deep riffs and the rock to guitarist Ryan Usher’s creativity, while Cooper’s raw, textured vocals bring a style that isn’t often heard in the folk world, making for an unforgettable listening experience. The band’s debut album, Window Flowers, features that unique sound while experimenting with some new guitar stylings, funky instrumental parts and a borderline alt-country feel. The Stampede will be joined in Athens by their touring opener, local band New Madrid.
