Noah James Saunders
Opening in conjunction with Third Thursday, “Ringer: Contemporary Portraiture” will populate gallery walls with alluring faces. Several of the artists are well-known for their portraiture. Noah James Saunders’ unusual wire works reflect mirror images within the shadows, while Stanley Burmudez’s pop-art pieces weave bold strips of color. Broderick Flanigan recently exhibited a collection of portraits of local African-American leaders, while Jackie Dorsey has displayed a series of local musicians. Curated by John English, “Ringer” features portraits by 18 artists, including Joshua Bienko, Shawn Campbell, Ally Christmas, Jaquelynn Faass, Tommy Kha, Ray Lee, Rich Panico and Kim Truesdale. The exhibition is on view through Mar. 14.
