Firefly Trail .5K and Funfest

That’s a .5K, as in a third of a mile, not a 5K, so even the most out-of-shape among us should be able to jog the finished portion of Firefly Trail, between Dudley Park and the trailhead off East Broad Street across from the Multimodal Center. This event is a fundraiser to help complete the rest of the biking and walking trail along the abandoned Georgia Railroad, which will eventually run to Winterville and, backers hope, through Oglethorpe County to Union Point. In addition to three individual races and a chain race, the family-friendly funfest will include games, a raffle, a bounce house, chalk to draw on the concrete path and more. Donations will be accepted, and T-shirts will be on sale for $10.
