To mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of folk legend Pete Seeger, the botanical garden’s Sunflower Concert will feature a performance by another Americana great—songwriter and multi-instrumentalist John McCutcheon, who paid tribute to Seeger with his most recent album, To Everyone in All the World: A Celebration of Pete Seeger. The record, which features contributions from roots-music standouts Beausoleil, The Steel Wheels, Finest Kind and others, finds McCutcheon putting his own creative spin on classic Seeger compositions like “If I Had a Hammer,” “Turn, Turn, Turn” and the title track. At the bot garden’s Day Chapel, the North Georgia-based McCutcheon will play Seeger’s music on guitar, banjo, dulcimer and more.
