Now in its 11th year, the annual Classic City American Music Festival gives Athenians and holiday visitors alike a welcome chance to enjoy a jam-packed day of live music during a traditionally quiet week in town. Featuring a solid lineup of skilled folk, country and Americana acts from here and around the region, this year’s festival is headlined by high-octane Nashville newgrass rabble-rousers Hogslop String Band and will also feature performances by local faves Packway Handle Band, Adam Klein and the Wild Fires, Grassland String Band, Norma Rae and others. The all-day, family-friendly event also features plenty of hot food and cold drinks for sale.
