Rootsy, rocking and refreshingly free of pretense, Madison County four-piece Holman Autry Band has done its riffy, Southern-inspired thing since 2006, blending Allman Brothers twang with Lynyrd Skynyrd grit and Eagles finesse. The band’s well-executed if steadfastly unadventurous music is tailor-made for nine-to-fivers looking to unwind to a familiar soundtrack. The group’s newly released album, Roots, features the requisite tales of backwoods livin’ (“Dam Fishing,” “Louisiana Lucy”), as well as instances of searching spirituality (“Jesus in Jail”) and reflective balladry (“Where the Song Went”). Holman Autry Band celebrates the release of the LP with a show at The Foundry Saturday.
