Founded in 2007 by Athens native and scene mainstay Theo Hilton, Nana Grizol became a fast favorite in local rock circles, with Hilton’s thoughtful lyricism underscored by his group’s melodic, breakneck folk-punk. It soon gained a following outside of town, with albums like 2010’s Ruth capturing the hearts of basement-show attendees across the U.S. Though Hilton no longer calls Athens home, much of the band still does, and it remains a staple on the club scene. In 2017, Nana Grizol released its first full-length in seven years, Ursa Minor, via Orange Twin Records. Hilton and company headline Flicker on Saturday with support from new local indie-pop outfit Trophy Boy, plus hip-hop standout Seline Haze.
