One of a handful of certifiable supergroups to recently spring out of the suddenly-reanimated Athens punk scene, McQQeen has spent the last half-year busting ass on the live circuit, winning over one sweat-soaked crowd at a time. The band, which neatly blends bruising skate-punk with psychedelic accoutrements and hardcore gloom, released a self-titled debut album earlier this month, and it will celebrate the record’s release at an eclectic Caledonia show that also features doom dudes Vincas, dream-pop outfit Dagmar Vork, DIY-electro project Bat and the Bears and Richmond, VA noise-rockers Prayer Group.
