English musicians Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey have performed together for more than three decades, as founding members of Oxford twee-pop sensation Talulah Gosh and its similarly oriented successor, Heavenly, plus later groups Marine Research and Tender Trap. Now, Fletcher and Pursey tour and record as The Catenary Wires, a project inspired by the couple’s move to the countryside and journey into parenthood. The group, which released an engaging full-length, Til the Morning, in June, recently wrapped up a full-band UK jaunt and hits Athens for one of only two stateside dates in an intimate duo format. Local favorites Lydia Brambila and Avery Leigh’s Night Palace open Friday’s show.
