Following in the reverberating footsteps of fellow Golden Staters Thee Oh Sees, Los Angeles foursome Frankie and the Witch Fingers put a funky, smoggy spin on 1960s psychedelic garage-rock. On their fifth album, ZAM, released in March via Brooklyn, NY, imprint Greenway Records, the Witch Fingers tighten up the grooves while expanding their sonic zone. Tuesday night’s Caledonia bill is a front-to-back banger that also features Athens punk supergroup McQQeen, which is hot off the release of a stellar debut LP, as well as local stratosphere-straddler Thrüm, whose proggy inclinations are thankfully offset by a scrappy psych edge.
FRANKIE & THE WITCH FINGERS High-octane psychedelic garage-rock band from Los Angeles.
MCQQEEN Athens rock supergroup with skate-punk and psychedelic leanings.
THRÜM Local psych-rock band featuring members of Sea of Dogs, Hot Fudge and Dream Culture.
