Prints for "Autumn's Arrival" by David Hale
Sharing the story of his daughter Autumn Ember’s adoption, each page of David Hale’s new children’s book, Autumn’s Arrival, is illustrated with a beautiful depiction of woodland imagery created through the method of woodblock reduction printmaking. The accompanying exhibition includes both carved blocks and finished, multi-color woodcuts, revealing part of the artist’s labor-intensive process. In addition, a second show called “Elemental Clayscapes” features a dozen porcelain pieces made in collaboration with ceramic artist Marci White. This book signing and print sale will be followed by an opening reception on Sept. 5 to celebrate the exhibition, which will remain on view through Oct. 12.
