If the recent UGA Homecoming Parade and Wild Rumpus Parade weren’t enough to satisfy your desire for music and marching, the Lyndon House and ATHICA are co-presenting a Lantern Parade. Kicking off from the Lyndon House, the half mile route moves west down Hoyt Street, past the Athens Council on Aging and up Pulaski Heights Trail to end at ATHICA. The parade begins with a performance by Tonalli Danza Folklórica Mexicana and will be followed by a dance. Everyone is invited to bring their own flameless lantern or flashlight, but no pets, bikes or motorized vehicles. In the event of rain, the parade will be moved to Nov. 3.
All are invited to bring lanterns and flashlights and join the fun. Lanterns must be powered by battery, solar or other flameless light sources. Please leave pets, motorized vehicles and bicycles at home. The parade's route will begin at the Lyndon House and end at ATHICA. See Calendar Pick on p. 14.
