Since its formation in 1999, local Grateful Dead tribute crew Cosmic Charlie has played around 800 shows, using the iconic California jam band’s music as a heady foundation while incorporating its own members’ varied influences to create a unique and immersive sound. Saturday at the Georgia Theatre, the group will present another installment of its most ambitious undertaking, Dark Side of the Dead, which invites Pink Floyd’s viscous classic Dark Side of the Moon to the party. Cosmic Charlie will play that album in its entirety—complete with two drummers, four keyboardists, backup singers and a saxophonist—sandwiched between two sets of Dead favorites.
COSMIC CHARLIE Grateful Dead cover band that adds their own flair to the classics. Tonight is a special "Dark Side of the Dead" show, featuring the music of Pink Floyd. See Calendar Pick on p. 21.
