Written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, You Can’t Take It With You is a classic tale of meeting the parents. Alice Sycamore (played by Bailey Adams) loves her family, unusual eccentricities and all, but is anxious to introduce them to her new fiancé, Tony (Ethan Laughman) and his straight-laced, upper-class parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kirby (Don R. Smith and Leslie Kimbell). When the Kirbys accidentally show up for dinner on the wrong night, Alice’s parents, Paul and Penny Sycamore (Skip Hulett and Lucy Haskill), must do their best to “act normal” through a comedy of errors that may jeopardize the relationship. Town & Gown’s production is directed by Bryn Adamson.
