Firefighters battle a forest fire in North Georgia.

You've probably noticed that Athens is smoky as hell today. No, anti-Trump protesters/pro-Trump revelers haven't set the city on fire. Shifting winds are blowing in smoke from several major forest fires in Tennessee and North Georgia.

One fire in the Chattahoochee National Forest that's been burning since Oct. 16 has consumed 1,300 acres. Another near Lookout Mountain has burned 175 acres and is growing, 11 Alive reports. In fact, drought and strong winds has led to forest fires spreading all over the Southeast.

The Georgia Department of Public Health has tips on smoke's health effects and precautions you can take.
