Stop Idling While On Your Phone

I visit the Athens-Clarke County Library most days, and also often stop over at Kroger to pick up something I might need. Maybe I am just going crazy, but it seems like every time I pull into their parking lots, I find myself parked next to a car sitting there with windows closed, engine running and the driver engrossed in his or her cell phone.

I know that a car engine has to be running to get the driver from point A to point B, and that the pollution is feeding global warming. Do we need to just sit there in our cars, with the engine spewing out poison, just to check our cell phones again and again? Does this bother anyone else?
