Children's Poem

Slackpole

I was hiding behind our biggest chair
to check my Santa doubts
While hoping for a gift or treat.

When oh!-oh!-oh! I heard Santa declare
from bursting through our chimney spout
and bouncing to his feet.

He didn't leave my baby mare,
the wish I'd written him about,
but he left a dream of milk and cookies,
fresh and sweet.
