UGA Presents has announced the slate of performers who will appear at the university's Performing Arts Center during its 2019–2020 season.
The new season will feature "dynamic performances by artists from 16 different countries spanning numerous genres and styles of music, theater and dance," PAC Director Jeffrey Martin is quoted as saying in a press release.
Performers scheduled to appear include Kronos Quartet with Iranian singer Masha Vahdat, on Sept. 15; Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, on Oct. 26; Berlin Philharmonic Piano Quartet, on Mar. 6; the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, on Mar. 28; Tony-winning Broadway legend Patty LuPone, on Apr. 24; and Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn, on May 9. The season kicks off Sept. 6 with the Aaron Diehl Trio.
The PAC also hosts student and faculty performances throughout the season. Martin, who was hired in late 2017, told Flagpole last year that his goal was to "celebrate the talent of our students while also bringing the world to Athens."
