So, here's a fun opportunity coming up. This weekend, the Oconee Youth Playhouse is holding auditions for its upcoming production of Shrek the Musical. Auditions are open to people from kindergarten on up, so this is a particularly nice chance to get younger members of your family some stage time. 

If you're in high school or older, there are individual auditions set for Friday, Sept. 27. You'll need to sign up for a five minute time slot by calling 706-769-2677. Time slots are available between 6 and 9 p.m. The producers ask that you prepare a song and bring your own sheet music. 

For the younger folks, there will be group auditions on Sunday the 29th. The auditions are divided by age ranges as follows: 

Kindergarten through second grade: 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Third through fifth grade: 3:45-4:45 p.m.

Sixth through eighth grade: 5:00-6:00 p.m.

All auditions will take place at the Oconee Youth School of Performance, located at 1050 Jamestown Blvd. in Watkinsville. The show takes place January 10-12 and 17-19 of next year. You can find more information at oypoysp.com/playhouse.
