The Aaron Freeman show scheduled for next Friday, July 13, has been cancelled, according to Troy Aubrey of Foundry Entertainment. Looks like "low ticket sales" is the culprit; gotta wonder if maybe Freeman would be selling more tickets if he hadn't so hastily ditched the Gene Ween moniker. (I thought my tweet reading "Who the f*** is Aaron Freeman?" was funny when I wrote it a few days ago. Now, it's just kinda sad.)
Regardless, look for Flagpole's Freeman feature in next week's paper, wherein T. Ballard Lesemann evaluates the singer's new album Marvelous Clouds.
Official statement below, from the Melting Point:
Regretfully we are cancelling our upcoming Aaron Freeman show, due to low ticket sales. There will be no rescheduled date, please seek ticket refunds at your point of purchase.
Update: Looks like the whole tour has been cancelled. Now, an unsubstantiated rumor is floating around that in the wake of the tour's demise, Freeman, who emphatically ended his relationship with Ween few weeks back, has contacted his former bandmates to try to put together a Ween tour "for the fans." Weird, wild stuff.
