Right on schedule, AthFest Educates has announced the outdoor headliners for this year's AthFest Music and Arts Festival, which will take place June 21–23 in downtown Athens.

Anthemic rock four-piece Walden will headline the main stage Friday. Earlier this month, we premiered the band's new EP, The Static, "a continuation of the group's journey into widescreen popdom."

On Saturday, Southern rockers AFTM—another young group formed by and popular among UGA students—will co-headline, along with eclectic local jam band The Orange Constant

Sunday remains the festival's unofficial old-school showcase, with a reunion set from Athens power-pop faves Dreams So Real, plus a performance by new-wavers The Producers. Sunday's bill will also feature waybackers Pylon Reenactment Society and Daisy.

"AthFest has always been about putting together a great representation of the Athens music scene," AthFest Music Chair Troy Aubrey is quoted as saying in a press release. "This year we have headliners that include young bands who are really coming on strong and are part of the current wave of what’s next in Athens music. We’ve got a nice mix of classic Athens music and the current sound of Athens music."

Aubrey adds that he's excited "for older folks to come out and see what this generation of musician[s] are producing, and for younger folks to come experience the music and artists who shaped the music scene and made Athens what it is today."

Headliners for AthFest's indoor Club Crawl will be announced later this month. Club Crawl tickets are on sale now for $20, though that price will increase in May.

Though we don't know the full lineup yet, one thing's for sure: AthFest will be lookin' sharp, thanks to this year's theme artist, Flagpole's own Anna LeBer
