UPDATE: AthFest Submission Period Now Open for Outdoor Stage, Compilation Album

AthFest Educates has formally opened the submission period for bands interested in performing on one of the outdoor stages at this year's AthFest, which takes place June 26–28.

To apply, visit the festival's Sonicbids page, or send a package to AthFest 2015, attn: Outdoor Stages, P.O. Box 327, Athens, GA 30603. Physical submissions should include a copy of the band’s latest CD, a biography, press clippings and a contact name, phone number, mailing address and email, as well as a website address and social media links. There's also a $15 submission fee for out-of-state submissions.

From the press release:

A “listening panel” reviews all music submitted for a possible slot on an outdoor stage.  The panel and AthFest music booking chair, Troy Aubrey, review and rate all submissions and acts are chosen on their overall review rating.  Aubrey said, “We choose acts based mainly on their review rating. Other factors come into play as well. If that act is from Athens or Atlanta or Georgia/Southeast and has played in Athens before, then that act has a decent chance of getting selected to perform. On the other hand, if an act is submitting from, for example, the west coast and has never performed in Athens, it is less likely to be selected. About 85% of the slots go to bands from Athens/Atlanta/Georgia/Southeast market while the other 15% goes to bands from other US regions and international bands.”

UPDATE: The submission period is also open for this year's AthFest compilation album. You can find info on how to submit your tune (previously unreleased material is encouraged) on the AthFest site.
