Attention, local bands who like free stuff (so, attention, all of Athens): The UGA Music Business Program (MBUS) has put out an annoucement about its semester-ly project wherein local bands are invited to submit a song in hopes of scoring a free recording session at local studio Chase Park Transduction. The details are as following:
- Each artist may submit only one song (mp3, please) to [email protected].
- Must include description of the band's lineup (who plays what), for session-planning purposes.
- Submissions must be received by Labor Day, Sept. 3.
So get crackin'! The winner, as chosen by the students of the MBUS production class, will be able to record their song free of charge.
EDIT: MBUS honcho David Barbe also says they're looking to place interns for the fall semester:
"We are also starting to place MBUS students in internships for this semester. We would like to publicize the availability of student interns to music-related businesses: venues, artists, managers, whoever. These folks want to learn, but are also a direct conduit to Tom and myself for consultation, and a link to the larger music community since we have interns in so many places. Interested parties can email Tom Lewis: [email protected]."
