Flagpole Heads to Hopscotch Fest Next Weekend

Danny Brown sez: "Flagpole's got this festival coverage on lock!"

Next Thursday through Saturday (Sept. 6-8), Flagpole will head up to Raleigh, NC to take in the sights, sounds and, uh, smells of Hopscotch Music Festival. The fest, in its third year, spans pretty much all of downtown Raleigh and features some pretty heavy-hitting talent.

Aside from outdoor headliners Jesus and Mary Chain, Built to Spill and The Roots, the schedule boasts some of the most exciting and relevant artists currently makin' musical magic, including Liars, Sunn0))), Danny Brown, Deerhoof, Guardian Alien, Dope Body, Thee Oh Sees, The Mountain Goats, G-Side, Azure Ray, Killer Mike, Wye Oak… you get the picture. View the full schedule here.

Georgia will be well-represented, with locals Quiet Evenings joining bands like Jane Jane Pollock, Black Tusk, Wowser Bowser and Dead in the Dirt. But that's just the official lineup: locals Grass Giraffes and Easter Island will both perform at the Team Clermont/Georgia Theatre day party on Saturday at music spot/drinky hole King's Barcade.

We'll be keeping you up to date on all the action with photos, live updates and recaps via Twitter and our newfangled live blog (which is really just a stream from our slightly older-fangled but still pretty new Tumblr).

Got it? Good. If you're also in attendance, send us your pics/thoughts and we'll put 'em up for the world to see! And say hello! We Flagpolers are a lonely, attention-starved bunch with poor social skills. So, y'know: fun.
