Athens roots-folk duo Cicada Rhythm are gearing up to release a new 7-inch, Two Wings (Live From Mt. Zion Church) this week via Normaltown Records. Today, we're pleased to premiere one of the record's two tracks: the spectral "Wait Till Morning."
The songs on the new release were recorded live by engineer Drew Vandenberg at the historic Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church in Sparta.
"The church has a spirit of its own," singer and guitarist Dave Kirslis is quoted as saying in a press release. "Every little musical nuance was amplified, it was a magical atmosphere." Adds bassist and singer Andrea DeMarcus: "Zion really lent itself to our sound, made it humm with its vintage resonance."
