Athens-based post-punk band Einschlagen is readying the release of its first album, Not Angry, Disappointed, tracked at The Glow Recording Studio and out Monday, Mar. 13 via band member Taylor Chicoine's Perfect Attendance Records.

Today, we're delighted to premiere the record's lead single, the glassy, agile "Wolf Tooth," which features vocals from group newcomer Aubry Meers. Stream it below:

Chicoine, who also runs DIY venue Pity Party Social Club, tells Flagpole the tune "addresses the parallels in human attempts to understand the body and mind," adding that Meers' "lyrics come from a place of contrast between learning a defined set of body parts and functions, while attempting to identify and understand the processes of your own mind."

The song's structure mirrors its lyrics, says Chicoine. "The first section is more lyrical and melodic," he explains. "From here we transition to a louder, more open, chord based section in which the music and lyrics combine to suggest a revelatory moment where the speaker has come to understand, or feel comfortable with, their own mental state."

Catch Einschlagen at Hi-Lo Lounge on Saturday, Mar. 18, where they'll share the bill with Fake Flowers and Pansy.
