Flagpole Premieres: Kwazymoto, The Death of Darby Crash

Punk provocateurs Kwazymoto released Limerence Land, one of our favorite local albums of the year, back in October. Now, not two months later, the group is back with yet another collection of new material: the three-song concept EP The Death of Darby Crash. (Check out the album art above.)

In addition to the EP, which chronicles the life and demise of the troubled Germs frontman and features additional vocals from Nihilist Cheerleader's Flynne Collins, the group has put together a 12-minute short film, to which the EP acts as a soundtrack.

Today, we're excited to premiere that video, co-directed by the band and frontman Ian Hemerlein's sister, Lauren Hemerlein, which you can watch below:

Ian Hemerlein says the project is an "attempt to deconstruct struggles of the creative process and how we perceive and sometimes aid in the destruction of creative types by taking advantage of their work and turning them into idols that can self destruct."

Check out the EP on Bandcamp.
