NPR is streaming the new Baroness record, the sprawling, double-disc Yellow & Green. As NPR's Lars Gotrich (yes, an Athens album; whattup Lars!) notes, the album is "a lyrically introspective and musically expansive work that's arguably less metal and more rock."
Indeed, it seems the latest step in the de-metalization that Baroness has been slowly undergoing with its last few records. That's not to say it's not heavy; lyrically and musically, Yellow & Green is still a barn-burner.
Watch for Flagpole's review, coming soon.
