On the Rise: Hear New Music from Kingsley Bloom, Milk and the Honeys

Kingsley Bloom's Youtometoyou EP

A couple new discoveries to help get you through the last day of the workin' week before the BIG AMERICAN WEEKEND:

Milk and the Honeys is the name of the new project from Matthew Garrison, the local musician and Gypsy Farm engineer known for his work with The HUMMS, the Shoal Creek Stranglers, T.S. Woodward and others. "Safe" is a doozy of a tune. At first it's a pleasant summer folk jammer,  but halfway through, as it often does in the GF camp, shit gets weird.

Kingsley Bloom (erstwhile simply Bloom) is a venture between Ruby Kendrick—she of Rabbitfoot fame—and Brantley Jones. The two are joined on the Youtometoyou EP by Eddie Whelan (Grass Giraffes), Greg O'Connell (Half Acid) and Ben Austin. The EP is a sultry, psychotropic acoustic effort, Animal Collective's Campfire Songs with a dash of Southern soul.
