Hear R.E.M.'s 'Losing My Religion' Shifted to a Major Key, For Some Reason
So, here's a thing that's a thing, I suppose. Someone, who runs a Vimeo channel titled, appropriately, "Major Scaled," has converted R.E.M.'s monster 1991 single "Losing My Religion" into a delightful major-key romp. No, it's not a cover: it's the actual song, the notes shifted and stuffed into a shiny, happy box.
It's weird.
Major Scaled has previously brightened up such unlikely songs as The Doors' "Riders on the Storm" and Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" (which became "Nothing Else Majeur," heh heh). If you're taking requests, MS, I vote for Songs: Ohia's "The Body Burned Away," which is literally the bleakest song of all time. Or any Nick Cave tune.
