Watkinsville-based Duck Cloud Productions has teamed up with nine Athens musical acts to put together a DVD of live performances, the proceeds from which will benefit Soldiers' Angels, a national organization that "work[s] tirelessly supporting our nation's veterans, wounded warriors, deployed service members and their families," according to the group's website.

Among the artists featured on the DVD, which is apparently available for purchase at various spots "downtown and in the surrounding Athens area for $2 per DVD or 2 for $3," according to a press release, are Caroline Aiken, Chris McKay, Isaac Bramblett, Reverend Conner Tribble and the Deacons and Elite tha Showstoppa (who's featured in this week's Flagpole). The discs will be on sale through Dec. 23.

The film is "designed to give the viewer the feel of having each artist in their own living room for a personal concert featuring a Christmas carol. Some of the acts performed original songs, others covers," according to organizer Misty Alfonso.
