Manor Owner Explains Gucci Mane No-Show Snafu

"This is in NO WAY the fault of my staff, the other artist[s] that performed, the promoters, or Manor."

"The night was actually a really fun night," Manor owner David Ippisch tells Flagpole, "except for that one minor hiccup of Gucci [Mane] not showing up." Indeed, the Atlanta rapper, who was scheduled to perform at the downtown nightclub on Wednesday night for a sold-out Halloween bash, was a no-show, enraging ticketholders, many of whom took to Facebook to voice their displeasure.

It's worth nothing that, given his history, perhaps Gucci's absence wasn't exactly all that surprising. And, judging by the extensive financial loss Manor presumably stands to take, it's worth asking why anyone would book this guy anymore, for anything.

Still, dude can write a dis song:

Below is the email Ippisch sent to affected customers ([sic]s implied).

Hi Everyone,

My name is David Ippisch. I am the owner of Manor. I want to sincerely apologize for any frustrations that anyone has about last night in regards to Gucci Mane not showing up. I am not a pass the buck kind of person. In this instance though I want to stress that this is in NO WAY the fault of my staff, the other artist that preformed, the promoters, or Manor. There are three elements that come into play on the night of a big show. The venue, the customers, and the artist. The venue was ready, you guys were ready, the artist… well we still are not positive but apparently something involving police happened in Dekab County last night on his way here. I want to stress that this is unconfirmed but apparently it was on the news this morning.

Now, while it was not our fault, I also want to stand up for Gucci here. If an unforeseen circumstance did arise then as frustrating as it is I seriously doubt that Gucci planned on standing everyone up. All of his people were here. His brother was here. His friends were here. He has been pushing this event as hard as anyone. So something had to have happened for him to have not come. Sometimes things just plain go wrong. We are giving him the benefit of the doubt until we hear otherwise. I encourage you to do the same.

We have had a several people say that he wasn't planning on coming. There are four main things to consider here.

1) We had a signed contract that states that he would be here from 12:00 - 2:00 and would start preforming at 12:30.

2) He says in this video that he will be here: http://youtu.be/3HEu8cNaa8s

3) He was promoting the concert on 107.9 the day before telling everyone to come to Manor.

4) He Tweeted this before he left saying that was headed to Athens and would be here at Midnight:

While most people still had an amazing time and enjoyed the night I have seen a lot of hateful messages on Facebook. Guys, you all paid $25 or less for tickets. We had much much MUCH more than that invested in this show and a lot of our people put a heck of a lot of work into this event. If you think you are frustrated then imagine how we feel. However, you, our customers and fans are our top priority. We value you and we want to make this right as quickly as possible. We have not been able to get a response from Gucci's people about what to do, however, we are going to proceed with issuing everyone a REFUND for last night's show in hopes that Gucci will be supportive of this when we hear from them. IMPORTANT: Please do not dispute your credit card charge. It is going to take a few days for us to issue these refunds and if you dispute the charges then we will have to handle it through the dispute system which can take 30 - 90 days and will be a big headache for everyone.

Additionally, we are offering everyone who purchased tickets an equal number of tickets to KREWELLA tonight for FREE. It is going to be an amazing show and we would love for you to join us. Get your free tickets here www.showclix.com/event/Krewella and use coupon code ISTILLHADFUN7697.

Lastly, while there has been a lot of misdirected negativity there has also been a much larger amount of people who have said a lot of very very kind things. To these people we want to say THANK YOU. It does not go unnoticed and we really do appreciate it very much. Hope to see ya tonight!!

All my best,

David Ippisch
