Manor Sues Gucci Mane Over No-Show

As the Athens Banner-Herald reports, downtown Athens nightclub Manor is suing Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane (real name Radric Davis) for agreeing to perform on Halloween—and taking an advance paycheck for the appearance—and then, uh, not showing up.

As we reported back then, Manor owner David Ippisch sent a letter to fans apologizing for the debacle, saying in part (errors his):

I am not a pass the buck kind of person. In this instance though I want to stress that this is in NO WAY the fault of my staff, the other artist that preformed, the promoters, or Manor… Now, while it was not our fault, I also want to stand up for Gucci here. If an unforeseen circumstance did arise then as frustrating as it is I seriously doubt that Gucci planned on standing everyone up. All of his people were here. His brother was here. His friends were here. He has been pushing this event as hard as anyone. So something had to have happened for him to have not come. Sometimes things just plain go wrong. We are giving him the benefit of the doubt until we hear otherwise. I encourage you to do the same.

No More Mr. Nice Manor. From the ABH article:

The Manor [sic] and Firetone International claim in the lawsuit that Mane’s no-show caused a loss of profits and ticket refunds totaling more than $46,000. The lawsuit states that Mane caused the club to suffer a loss of reputation by not showing up. The plaintiffs also are seeking to recoup production, advertising, security and other expenses in connection with Mane’s scheduled appearance.

No statement yet from Gucci's camp, though he's currently dealing with more pressing matters: after being held on a champagne-bottle-related assault charge, he was released from an Atlanta jail on bond this past Friday, only to be re-booked less than 24 hours later on a probation violation.
