Oh, Hey, Here's a Fire New Cinemechanica Track

It's been many moons since we've gotten to enjoy a new Cinemechanica studio recording. The Athens math-rock band's most recent release is 2008's Rivals EP; its last full-length, The Martial Arts, came out way back in 2006.  Thankfully, the group is set to make up for its lengthy absence with the self-titled Cinemechanica, out Sept. 23 via Arrowhawk Records.

For the new record, Cinemechanica recruited guitarist and singer Jordan Olivera, whose razor-edged vocals seem to have had an intensifying effect on the band's already-aggro approach. (Olivera has since been replaced in the lineup by Lazer/Wulf's Bryan Aiken.)

This week the group unveiled Cinemechanica's first single, "Vietnamese Pool Party." Stream the hyper-charged, two-minute burner, which, considering the group's previous output, feels familiar and yet somehow unprecedented, below:

You can pre-order the new LP, which was engineered by Kevin Ratterman and mixed by Converge's Kurt Ballou, via Bandcamp. All pre-order customers will be entered into a drawing to win a vinyl test pressing of the album.
