Local rehearsal space warehouse has been fighting to keep the Chase Park location for the better part of this year, but the bank that held the loan on the property—which Collins reportedly kept current but had been solely managing after the departure of his co-signee—had been less supportive of the idea.
The official release is below:
Pigpen is proud to announce its relocation! The official move in date is October 1. We are very excited for the new space. It's located at 240 Collins Industrial Blvd behind our friends at Hardcore Gym. Plenty of parking, a large lounge area, and some great rehearsal spaces. We have fewer rooms which means we will be on a waiting list basis. With the current renters moving over, it is looking like we are at full capacity. So give us a call or email and we can get back to you on availability.
While we will miss the space over at Chase Park warehouses, Pigpen lives on!
Collins will be moving the recording studio to a personal space. For any needs that can not be accommodated at his personal space, he has positive relationships with other local studios that will allow him to do so. So the producer/engineer that is Daniel Collins lives on as well!
While the battle with the big bank was lost, we continue on. Thanks for all the community support. Without it, Pigpen very well may have just closed its doors. Thank you Athens for keeping it alive!
