The Flagpole-sponsored 40 Watt concert raised money for the Athens nonprofit.
Thanks to all who attended the Poverty is Real benefit at the 40 Watt: Today, PIR announced that it raised $5,000 from the concert for local nonprofit Whatever it Takes, which works in the ACC school system with students to encourage and enable post-secondary education.
Mike Killeen, PIR chairman, says, "Our second annual Poverty is Real event was a great success and we are honored to support the mission of Whatever It Takes. We plan to do even more in 2013!"
The organization also announced that it raised $5,000 for Open Table Nashville, thanks to a similar concert it recently held there.
