Red Bull Tour Bus Hits Athens Tuesday

red bull tour bus.jpg

The Red Bull Tour Bus, a roving, sugar-and-taurine-powered display of musical talent that is literally a tour bus with a stage built into it, will stop in Athens tomorrow, when it will set up shop outside the 40 Watt Club on West Washington Street downtown. The show will feature four acts and start promptly at 6 p.m.

From the press release:

Red Bull Sound Select is a long-term initiative that celebrates local music and the people that push it forward: hard working artists, passionate fans, and tastemakers that shape scenes. It’s part artist development program, part event series, part digital product, part partner network, all working together to bring artists and fans closer together to break music.

Thaz cool. Except, and I don't mean to split hairs or anything, but looking at the schedule, there isn't actually any "local music" to be found.

Atlanta's The Electric Sons will be there, as will three Nashville-based artists: songwriter Kyle Andrews, rapper Chancellor Warhol and inscrutable pop crew Five Knives (whose music Red Bull says "will make you want to tear shit up").

Anyhow, it's free and yadda yadda there will probably be free energy drank and so on.
