Word came down the pike today confirming the existence of a brand new music festival in a certain quaint little town 70 miles to our west. The inaugural Shaky Knees Festival will happen May 4 and 5 in Atlanta's Historic Fourth Ward Park and Masquerade Music Park, and will feature artists like The Lumineers, Jim James, Band of Horses, Drive-By Truckers, Dr. Dog, Kurt Vile and more, including Dead Confederate frontman T. Hardy Morris.
Tickets for the two-day fest, which go on sale this Saturday, Feb. 7, will cost $99 (or $265 for the omnipresent and unneccesary VIP version). A separate ticket is required for a "late night" show at the Masquerade featuring The Black Angels and Goat.
It's always good to see new, elaborate music events happening on (or near) our home turf, but this one seems especially refreshing; credit the intown location and solid lineup, to start. We'll bring you further details as they arrive.
