This week's new finds from the great beyond:
1. Daniel Lanois: Flesh and Machine (ANTI-, Oct. 28)
He's produced U2 and Bob Dylan, and Flesh is one of the finest ambient albums of the year: Daniel Lanois is a man of mystery.
2. Radian and Howe Gelb: Radian verses Howe Gelb (Radian, Nov. 11)
They're a meticulous post-rock outfit and he's a warm, flowing breeze of a musician: Radian and Howe Gelb complete one another.
3. Marissa Nadler: Before July (Sacred Bones, Nov. 18)
She's a singer-songwriter who challenges everything that label connotes, and she covers Elliott Smith: Marissa Nadler contains multitudes.
