Today's Office Jam! Tim Hecker and Daniel Lopatin: "Uptown Psychedelia"

Hear a tune the Flagpole office is diggin' on

Welcome to Today's Office Jam!, a feature where we share a tune the Flagpole office is currently diggin' on. Today's jam comes courtesy Music Editor Gabe Vodicka.

Office Jam: Post-ambient/electro hotshots Tim Hecker and Daniel Lopatin (AKA Oneohtrix Point Never) put out two of my absolute favorite records of the decade—yeah, I said it—with last year's Ravedeath, 1972 and Replica, respectively, so you can imagine my excitement at the recent announcement that the two would be teaming up for a collaborative album.

Instrumental Tourist comes out Nov. 20 via Lopatin's Software imprint, and, judging by "Uptown Psychedelia," it should be the best thing, ever, of all time, no debate, case closed. In fact, everyone else should just stop making music now, because there's really no point after this. I guess that means I'm out of a job, too. Oh well. At least I'll have Instrumental Tourist to keep me occupied. (Oh yeah: Hecker and Lopatin are playing this year's Moogfest, too.)

Office Objections?: City Editor Blake Aued, foolishly, does not dig this Office Jam.
