Tonight in Athens: Lonesome Leash, Swarming Branch

Lonesome Leash

It's relatively slim pickings tonight in live music land, but there are a couple notable gigs to get you hot and bothered:

At Go Bar, New Orleans songwriter Walt McClements (of Why Are We Building Such a Big Ship?) returns with his Lonesome Leash project, playing folk music that is airy and propulsive and slightly unstable. Echo Constant and Fabulous Bird also perform.

And at New Earth, long-running glam-rock outfit Swarming Branch is the dark-horse highlight of a good bill that also includes Ohio folkies Saintseneca and locals Walden.
