Watch: LIONZ call for weed legalization with new video

"Pass the Bong" also stars Widespread Panic's Sunny Ortiz

So, this is a thing that you should probably watch.

From the band:

An increasingly large number of US citizens are beginning to open their eyes and adjust their opinions towards the cannabis plant, aka marijuana, and how the effects of using the plant are not as harmful as the DEA would like the citizens of this country to believe.

The overwhelming incarceration statistics for possession of marijuana in the US is not only drastically damaging to the imprisoned, but with more and more facts on government spending and agricultural resource revamping, our collective economic and moral viewpoint is starting to turn towards a new day.

Athens, GA long time rock & roll outfit, LIONZ, believe they can assist in the spreading of awareness of the importance of legalizing marijuana with a light hearted but yet very direct music video named "Hit the Bong" featuring very special guest Sunny Ortiz (Widespread Panic) accompanied by a number of fellow Athens musicians in growing support of the legalization of marijuana and an end to the mistreatment of US citizens, who are incarcerated for using a medicinal, and in some world religions, sacred plant.

Jefferson Taffet, spokesperson and lead singer/songwriter for the band claims "The video is not intended to change people's mind per se about legalization and the benefits of marijuana but rather to say to our fellow preachers, choir members & congregation that silence and fear are not options if we are to truly gain our individual freedom".
